Tangaroa's Gift

On Thursday Mrs Mercer read us the story of Tangaroa's Gift.

After we read the story we discussed the key messages.  Here are some of our discoveries and wonderings.

To always be careful of what you say and care for people so they can be happy.  Nathanial

You have to be nice to one another so you don't make people sad.  The Paua was even beautiful when it didnt have the coat on, so the sea creatures didn't have to be mean.  Kyla

Treat people the way you want to be treated.  Tessa

With his new coat on it looks really pretty, but it was still making him really, really sad.  Ashton.

He looked prettier with the coat on and they shouldn't be mean, the crab could get a special shell like the paua.  Jas

We have to be kind to people so that we have nice things  and not have to hide them inside ourselves.  Josh.

Here is a retelling of the story from another school to share
